Roll-off dumpsters delivered to your driveway, jobsite or yard — usually the same day you call. One flat price with the tonnage written down, boards under the rails as standard, and a local number that a person actually answers.

Why Dothan calls Big Joey's
Joey Thompson started this company with one roll-off truck and a straightforward idea: quote a real price, show up when you say you will, and treat somebody's driveway like it is your own. More than a decade later that is still how it runs. When you dial (334) 336-0388 you get our yard on 108 E Southport — not a scheduling queue three states away that has never driven Ross Clark Circle at five o'clock.
That matters more than it sounds. Knowing which drives out toward Ashford will not take a loaded truck after a wet week, which downtown streets need a permit, and how fast a container fills once shingles or wet plaster start going in is the difference between a job that runs smooth and one that costs you an afternoon.
Pick your box
Weight fills a container long before volume does. Tell us what you are throwing away and we will point you at the size that actually fits the job — even when that is the cheaper one.

Learn moreWhy choose us
You reach our yard on 108 E Southport, not a national dispatch queue three states away. The person who answers knows which roads flood and which drives will not take a truck.
Delivery, rental period, pickup, fuel, disposal and a stated tonnage allowance in a single number. If something would push you over, we tell you before the truck leaves.
Call before noon and most Dothan-area orders go out the same day. Swap-outs on live jobsites get priority over everything else.
Fully licensed and insured in Alabama, and boards go down under the rails as standard, not as an upsell.
Weight fills a container long before volume does. We will talk you into a smaller can if that is the honest answer.
Clean concrete, metal and green waste get routed for recovery instead of being buried with everything else.
How it works
No forms, no portal logins, no waiting on a quote email. Five steps, and the first one is a conversation with somebody who has actually loaded a container.

Tell us the address, roughly what is going in, where you want it and when. That is the entire process on your side. We handle sizing, scheduling, protection, hauling and disposal.
If you are not sure what size you need, do not guess — describe the pile. Sizing containers is what we do all day, and we would rather talk you into the cheaper box than sell you space you will not fill.
Call (334) 336-0388One short conversation. We ask what you are clearing, where the box needs to sit and when you need it. No forms, no waiting on an email.
You get one number that covers delivery, the rental period, pickup, disposal and a stated tonnage allowance. If a smaller box does the job we will say so.
The driver walks the spot with you, lays protection under the rails and sets the container square. Doors face the way you are loading.
Keep it level with the top rail and keep the banned items out. Need it gone early or need a swap mid-job? One call and we are on it.
Clean loads go to the right facility. You get your driveway back the way you left it.

The thing nobody tells you
Most people ordering their first dumpster assume the biggest container is the least risky option. With light, bulky material — furniture, boxes, insulation, cabinetry — that is true. With anything dense it is the opposite.
A 30 yard box loaded with roofing shingles, wet plaster, tile or old-growth framing will blow past its tonnage allowance while it still looks half empty, and you pay the overage by the ton. A 20 yard with a matched allowance often costs less for exactly the same job. Concrete, brick, block, dirt and asphalt go further still: those need a dedicated low-fill heavy debris container, never a mixed load.
Ask us and you will get the honest answer, even when the honest answer is the smaller box. Our size guide walks through the maths, and the cost breakdown covers what actually moves the price.

What locals say
Joey's crew dropped a 20 yard on my drive in Rehoboth the morning after I called. Boards down, doors facing the garage, and not a mark on the concrete when they picked it up.
We run three crews and I have used most of the haulers around Dothan. Big Joey's is the only one that has never left us sitting on a full box. Swaps happen when they say they will.
Tore off a two-layer roof out in Headland and Joey talked me down from a 30 to a 20 because of the weight. Saved me the overage. That is not the advice a salesman gives you.
After my mother passed we had to clear the family place in Ashford. They were patient, quiet about it, and let us keep the container an extra few days without a fuss.

FAQs
The questions we field most often from Dothan homeowners and contractors.
Price depends on the size you take, how heavy the debris is and how long you keep it. What matters more is how the price is put together. Ours is a flat rate that includes delivery, the rental period, pickup, fuel, disposal and a stated tonnage allowance, so the number you are quoted is the number you pay unless you go over the weight. Call us with a short description of the job and you will get a firm figure on the spot.
Most orders placed before noon go out the same day inside Dothan and the closer Houston County towns. Anything booked in the afternoon usually lands first thing the next morning. Jobsite swap-outs get priority because a full container stops a crew working. If you are on a tight schedule, say so when you call and we will tell you honestly whether we can hit it.
No, as long as we know exactly where it goes and the spot is clear. Plenty of customers text a photo of the driveway with an X on it. If the placement is tight, has a slope or sits near a septic lid or sprinkler line, it is worth being there for the two minutes it takes to set. Cars in the way are the single most common reason a delivery gets pushed.
It should not, and we take real steps to make sure. Boards go down under the rails and the roller contact points on every driveway placement, at no extra charge. Damage almost always happens during the roll-off and pick-up, not while the container is sitting there, so the protection and a careful driver matter more than anything else. Alabama asphalt softens badly on hot afternoons, so we will often suggest a morning slot in summer.
No liquids, wet paint, solvents, motor oil, fuel, pesticides, batteries, tyres, propane tanks, appliances holding refrigerant, electronics, medical waste or anything containing asbestos. Those are landfill bans, not house rules, and a prohibited item can get a whole load rejected. If you are unsure about something, ring us before it goes in the box and we will tell you where it should go instead.
The standard rental period covers most jobs comfortably, and if you need longer you just call. Extra days are cheap and arranged in a minute. We would far rather extend the rental than have you rush a job or overfill a container. If you finish early, call and we will pick it up sooner so you get your driveway back.
Yes. We run daily across Houston County and out into Henry, Dale, Coffee and Geneva counties — Rehoboth, Taylor, Kinsey, Webb, Cowarts, Ashford, Columbia, Gordon, Madrid, Napier Field, Headland, Abbeville, Ozark, Midland City, Newton, Enterprise and Slocomb among them. If your address is not on the list, call anyway. We probably still get there.
If the container sits entirely on your own driveway or property, generally no. If it has to sit on a public street, sidewalk or right-of-way, you will usually need a permit from the city, and each surrounding town handles its own. HOA and deed-restricted subdivisions are a separate approval and often stricter than any city rule. Tell us where it needs to go and we will help you work out what applies.
