Demolition Debris Dumpsters across Dothan and Houston County

Demolition produces waste faster than any other phase of construction, and it produces it in a mix that most containers are not specced for. Plaster, lath, brick, framing, ceiling material, flooring, old ductwork, cabinetry and whatever the previous three owners left in the crawlspace all come out at once.

The two things that determine whether a demolition job runs well are container throughput and material separation. Get either wrong and the machine sits idle while somebody works out where the debris is supposed to go.

Interior gut-outs

Stripping a house back to studs generates enormous volume very quickly, and in older Dothan properties it generates enormous weight with it. Plaster and lath is the one that catches people out — a single room's worth weighs several times the equivalent in modern drywall, and a whole house of it will fill a container's tonnage long before its volume.

For a full interior strip we would normally stage a 30 yard for the bulk material and swap it as it fills, with anything masonry going to a separate box. Pre-1980 properties need a proper assessment for asbestos-containing material before anything is broken up — that is licensed abatement work and it cannot go in a container under any circumstances.

Outbuildings, garages and structures

Sheds, detached garages, barns, carports and small outbuildings are common demolition jobs across the rural Wiregrass, and they are usually a mix of timber framing, sheet metal, roofing and a concrete slab.

Split those streams if you can. Timber and general debris in one container, concrete and masonry in a dedicated heavy box, and scrap metal pulled out separately where there is enough of it to be worth recovering. Three clean loads routinely cost less than two mixed ones.

Access, staging and swap rhythm

Demolition sites are the hardest placements we do. Machines are moving, the ground changes daily, and the spot that worked on Monday is a spoil heap by Wednesday. Tell us where you want the box staged relative to the machine's working radius and the truck's turning circle, and flag anything overhead.

On an active teardown we will schedule swaps in advance against your expected fill rate rather than waiting for the call. A demolition crew waiting on a container is the most expensive kind of idle there is. See the jobsite debris guide for material weights.

Which container for demolition debris dumpsters?

Every service runs in all four sizes. Match the material to the weight allowance and the rest takes care of itself.

Demolition Debris Dumpsters — your questions

What size container for a full interior gut-out?

A 30 yard for the bulk material, swapped as it fills, with masonry going to a separate heavy debris box. In older properties carrying plaster and lath, expect the weight to run out before the volume does — we will often stage a 20 for that phase instead.

Can demolition debris and concrete go in the same container?

No. Concrete, brick, block and masonry need a dedicated low-fill container. Mixed with general demolition debris they will exceed the weight allowance and can make the entire load unacceptable at a construction and demolition facility.

What about asbestos in an older building?

Stop and get it assessed before anything is disturbed. Asbestos-containing material is prohibited in any container and must be handled by a licensed abatement contractor. Never break it up or attempt to dispose of it yourself — the risk and the liability are both serious.

How quickly can you swap containers on a teardown?

Same day in most cases, and on an active demolition we prefer to schedule swaps in advance against your expected fill rate. A crew and a machine waiting on a container is expensive idle time, so tell us the rhythm at the start.

Do you take mixed metal and timber from a barn teardown?

Yes, though separating them usually costs less overall. If there is a meaningful quantity of scrap metal it is worth pulling out for recovery, and clean timber loads dispose more cheaply than mixed ones. We will advise on the split when you describe the structure.
