Construction Dumpster Rental across Dothan and Houston County
Construction waste behaves nothing like household junk, and treating it the same is how contractors end up paying overage on half the jobs they run. Framing offcuts are bulky and light. Drywall is deceptively heavy once you are past a few rooms. Plaster and lath out of an older Dothan house can weigh three or four times what modern board does.
Getting the container right is a weight calculation, not a volume one — and getting the schedule right matters just as much. A box that fills on Wednesday and gets collected Friday costs two days of productivity that nobody billed for.
Sizing by phase, not by job
The single most useful habit on a build is to stop thinking about "a dumpster for the job" and start thinking about the phase. Demolition and framing generate huge volume at low density — that is 30 yard territory. Drywall and mud go heavy fast. Finish and trim-out is light again but constant.
On a full renovation that usually means a 30 for the strip-out and framing, then a 20 for the board and mud phase where weight is the constraint, then whatever fits the remaining volume for finishes. Sequencing it that way is almost always cheaper than parking one big box for eight weeks.
Swap-outs that actually happen
Contractor accounts get priority on swaps ahead of everything else on the board, because we know what a full container costs you. Ring in the morning and in most cases we are there the same day with an empty on the truck and the full one going back.
If you can give us a rough fill rate at the start of the job — "we will fill this in about four days" — we will pencil the swap in advance and you will not have to think about it. Standing accounts also get consistent pricing across every site you are running and consolidated invoicing at month end.
Keeping the load clean and legal
Two things get loads rejected and both are avoidable. The first is heaping above the top rail — a container that cannot be tarped and transported legally gets refused, and you pay a dry run for the privilege. Load level.
The second is contamination. Concrete, brick, block and dirt in a mixed container will push it over weight and may make the whole load unacceptable at a C&D facility. Those go in a separate heavy debris box. Shingles are best kept as a dedicated tear-off load. And prohibited items — paint, solvents, fuel, batteries, anything with asbestos in it — cannot go in any container at all.
Alabama afternoon storms are worth planning around too. An open box that takes a heavy downpour picks up real weight in absorbent material. Tarping before a forecast storm is five minutes that regularly saves an overage charge. The full jobsite debris guide has the material weights.
Sizes
Which container for construction dumpster rental?
Every service runs in all four sizes. Match the material to the weight allowance and the rest takes care of itself.
| Size | Dimensions | Capacity | Weight included | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 Yard Dumpster | 12 ft long × 8 ft wide × 3.5 ft high | about 3 pickup truck loads | 1–2 tons | Small bathroom remodels, single-room cleanouts, concrete and heavy debris, roofing up to about 15 squares. |
| 15 Yard Dumpster | 16 ft long × 8 ft wide × 4 ft high | about 4–5 pickup truck loads | 2–3 tons | Garage and attic cleanouts, kitchen remodels, medium roof tear-offs, small deck removals. |
| 20 Yard Dumpster | 22 ft long × 8 ft wide × 4.5 ft high | about 6 pickup truck loads | 3–4 tons | Whole-home decluttering, flooring and siding jobs, large tear-offs, mid-size renovations. |
| 30 Yard Dumpster | 22 ft long × 8 ft wide × 6 ft high | about 9 pickup truck loads | 4–5 tons | Full-house renovations, new construction, estate clearances, commercial fit-outs and demolition. |

Answers
Construction Dumpster Rental — your questions
How fast can you swap a container on a live jobsite?
Same day in most cases if you call in the morning, and swaps take priority over new deliveries. Give us a heads-up on your expected fill rate at the start of the job and we will schedule it in advance so your crew never waits.
What size do most contractors take?
The 30 yard for demolition and framing where volume is the constraint, and the 20 for drywall, mud and anything dense where weight runs out first. Plenty of jobs use both at different phases, which is usually cheaper than one container sitting for the whole build.
Can I put concrete and framing debris in the same box?
No — keep them separate. Concrete, brick, block, dirt and asphalt need a dedicated low-fill heavy debris container. Mixed in with general C&D debris they will blow the weight allowance and can make the whole load unacceptable at the receiving facility.
Do you offer contractor accounts and terms?
Yes. Ongoing accounts get priority swap scheduling, consistent pricing across all your sites, certificates of insurance on file and consolidated invoicing. If you are running more than one job at a time it is worth setting up properly rather than booking each site ad hoc.
What happens if the box gets rained on?
Water adds real weight, particularly in drywall, insulation, carpet and untreated timber. If a heavy storm is forecast and the container is close to full, tarp it. Five minutes of cover regularly saves an overage charge in an Alabama summer.
