The beginning
It started because the phone kept ringing out
Joey Thompson spent years working around construction in southeast Alabama before he ever bought a truck. The complaint he heard on every site was the same one, and it was never about price. It was that you would call for a container, get an answering service in another state, be told a delivery window three days wide, and then spend a morning standing in a driveway wondering if anything was coming at all.
In 2013 he bought one used roll-off truck and a handful of containers, parked it on 108 E Southport, and started answering the phone himself. The pitch was not complicated: give people a real price, give them a real time, and turn up. Word moved the way it does in a town like Dothan — one remodeller told another, a roofer mentioned it to a supplier, and inside two years the single truck was not enough.
The company is bigger now. The rules have not changed.

The number we give you on the phone covers delivery, the rental period, pickup, fuel, disposal and a stated tonnage allowance. If a job looks likely to run heavy, we say so before the truck leaves rather than after.

Somebody else's property gets treated like ours

Clean concrete, scrap metal and green waste get separated and routed for recovery instead of being buried. It costs us more time. It is the right way to run a hauling company.

The Wiregrass is a specific place, and it matters
Serving this corner of Alabama well means knowing things a national dispatcher never will. That asphalt drives soften enough on a July afternoon that a morning placement is worth insisting on. That a long red-clay farm drive out toward Columbia will hold a loaded truck in October and will not in March. That storm season means the phone rings for a week straight and green loads need to move fast.
It also means knowing the housing. The older homes in and around downtown Dothan carry plaster and lath that weighs several times what modern drywall does — a room's worth will surprise you. The newer subdivisions out toward Rehoboth and Taylor sit on wider lots where placement is easy but HOA rules are tighter. Out near Ozark and Enterprise, Fort Novosel keeps a steady flow of families packing up on short notice.

What a normal week looks like
Monday might start with a 20 yard dropped for a kitchen gut in an older Dothan neighbourhood, then a swap-out on a framing job where the crew filled a 30 faster than anyone expected. Tuesday could be a roof tear-off in Headland where the homeowner needs the box tight to the eave and gone by Thursday.
Midweek there is usually an estate clearance somewhere rural — a family place out past Ashford or Columbia with a barn and sixty years of accumulation, where the job is as much about patience as it is about tonnage. Fridays lean commercial: property managers and retail fit-outs clearing before a weekend handover.
And when a storm comes through the Wiregrass, all of that gets rearranged and we run green loads until the debris is off people's lawns.

Joey Thompson owns and runs the company. He grew up in Alabama, started with a single roll-off truck in 2013, and still takes calls himself when the yard gets busy. There is no franchise agreement and no out-of-state parent company — the buck stops at the 108 E Southport yard.
How long have you been in business?
Since 2013 — roughly 12 years serving Dothan, Houston County and the wider Wiregrass. In that time we have hauled for homeowners doing a single garage, roofers stripping two-layer tear-offs in Headland, and general contractors running multiple crews across three counties.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — fully licensed to haul in Alabama and carrying general liability and commercial auto cover. If you are a contractor, a property manager or an HOA and you need a certificate of insurance on file before we can come on site, ask when you call and we will get it to you the same day.
What areas do you cover?
Dothan and all of Houston County, plus Henry, Dale, Coffee and Geneva counties. That includes Rehoboth, Taylor, Kinsey, Webb, Cowarts, Ashford, Columbia, Gordon, Madrid, Napier Field, Headland, Abbeville, Ozark, Midland City, Newton, Enterprise and Slocomb. Do you work with contractors on ongoing accounts?
We do, and a good chunk of our week is repeat commercial work. Contractor accounts get priority on swap-outs, consistent pricing across jobs, consolidated invoicing and a direct line rather than a general queue. If you are running more than one site at a time, call and we will set it up properly.
